SAMUEL MTUNGA (Principal – XFD) Chief Operating Officer
Samuel co-founded XFD Real Estate Partners in 2016. His role focuses on property operations acquisition due-diligence, business development and strategy. Since launching XFD, the organization has acquired, managed, and developed over $400 million in student assets. XFD is currently comprised of 4,171 owned and managed beds located across seven universities and states in the USA. The firm focuses on the acquisition of undermanaged assets and creating value through intensive operational turnarounds and capital improvements, in order to generate attractive risk-adjusted returns.Prior to co-founding XFD, Samuel served as the Vice President of Marketing & Leasing at The Scion Group where he led the repositioning and stabilization of ~$1 billion of purpose-built Class-A and Class-B, value-add, student housing acquisitions.
